Hole No. 1, 406
yards, par 4 The round begins
from an elevated tee that presents the golfer with a number of
choices and risk options. The safe play from the tee is to drop
short of the creek on the left side of the fairway, leaving a
straight-ahead approach across the creek, pond and wetland to
the green. The daring route calls for a long shot off the tees,
landing across the creek and onto the fairway beside the pond,
leaving a short iron to the green that slopes from the back to
the front. |
| Hole No. 2, 508 yards, par
5 A gentle uphill tee shot is required to reach this
mid-length par 5 in two. A drift to the right will put the ball
into a wet marsh and pond section along the fairway. A stately
white oak overlooks the very large and even green that is
sheltered by a bunker to the left and a pond on the backside.
The large level green makes a long putt reachable and fun. |
 |
 |
Hole No. 3, 552 yards, par
5 Placement of the ball is key as you move down this
forest-lined fairway. Your tee shot should put you past the
marsh and pond on the right hand side of the fairway. Your
second shot moves along mounds to the right and a narrowing
fairway that dips just before reaching a small creek. For a
safer option, lay up just before the protection the creek
provides, leaving a short iron or wedge to move to the green
that slopes from the back to the front. |
| Hole No. 4, 203 yards, par
3 Long stem fescue grass outline this fairway that has
a slight 10-foot elevation lift as you approach the green. The
green itself is also elevated and is guarded by sand traps. The
kidney shape green is especially large and slopes from the back
to the front. |
 |
 |
Hole No. 5, 370 yards, par
4 From the tees you are looking down hill as the green
sits 25 feet lower with its back tight up against the woods. The
wide fairway has a beautiful links-style look that turns a
brilliant shade of purple in late summer. A properly performed
drive will be assisted by the down hill slope, moving the ball
forward to a favorable position away from the right side bunker
to tackle this gently rolling green in two. |
| Hole No. 6, 368 yards, par
4 This dogleg right continues the wide links style
fairway design. Your second shot gives you the choice of playing
it safe and landing in front of the green, yet away from the
pond and marsh to the left. A bolder approach is to hit over the
trees that extend out onto the right side of the fairway and
onto the generous green surrounded by rolling mounds. |
 |
 |
Hole No. 7, 420 yards, par
4 From the tees the fairway ascends 30 feet between
mature oaks and a fairway bunker before you reach the green.
Elevated and surrounded by gently sloping mounds, the green is
sheltered on the left side with a sand trap and in the back by
several nearby oak trees. |
| Hole No. 8, 223 yards, par
3 A push or pull off the tees will land you in the
tall meadow grass that lines the fairway. With a pond off to the
far right and the rear bunker and mounds along the green, this
hole testing, yet enjoyable. |
 |
 |
Hole No. 9, 409 yards, par
4 A dogleg right requiring an accurate tee shot onto
the fairway to avoid wetlands to the left and a series of mounds
on the right hand side. As you approach the green the mounds are
replace by a large pond and on the left side you will find a
sand trap. The elevated green has a slope much like the letter
C flowing from around the back towards the fairway. |
| Hole No. 10, 401 yards,
par 4 Elevated tees overlook a nearby pond to the left
and a large landing area just before a creek that crosses the
fairway. Playing just short of the creek and to the left give
you the best position to negotiate the pond to the right front
side of the green and a sand trap to the left. |
 |
 |
Hole No. 11, 511 yards,
par 5 Playing back into a traditional Michigan forest
lined fairway, this hole moves along mature oaks and white pines
to the green pushed up tight to the woods. A sand trap on the
left and a grass bunker to the right divide the upper fairway
and guard the green. |
| Hole No. 12, 224 yards,
par 3 Hitting on a gentle uphill slope to the green
you will find grass bunkers and links style grass surrounding
the elevated green. The green has a three-tier/step waterfall
style contour that will challenge your putting skill. |
 |
 |
Hole No. 13, 381 yards,
par 4 A twenty-five foot downhill drop down to where
the fairway narrows to a slight ravine just before the elevated
green. A left side sand trap, right side grass mounds and tall
oaks encircle this hole. |
| Hole No. 14, 345 yards,
par 4 Another gentle downhill fairway with a dogleg
right. The green is an hour-glass shape and protected by mounds
and a sand trap to the right. Woods are tight to the rear of the
green and the green slopes from back to front. |
 |
 |
Hole No. 15, 515 yards,
par 5 This long hole has a dogleg left with the entire
left side following a wooded wetland. A gracious landing area to
the right of the green provides a safe approach to the green,
while the bold player may hit down the left side challenging a
large white pine that has stopped many a ball. The green is very
elevated and has a sand trap to the right and grass mounds to
the left and rear with a sharp drop off the green. |
| Hole No. 16, 185 yards,
par 3 This is one of the most picturesque holes on the
golf course. A large pond on the entire left side and a growth
of mature hardwoods and pines frame the back of the green. Over
hitting the green and your ball will travel into the woods or
roll in the water. |
 |
 |
Hole No. 17, 405 yards,
par 4 Off the tees you have a narrow fairway at first
that opens up to a nice landing area as it doglegs left. A large
pond and marsh move into the fairway about half way to the
green. Two traps provide safeguard on the left and right side of
the green, which is designed with a two-step putting area
separated by a valley. |
| Hole No. 18, 381 yards,
par 4 Playing a slight downhill pitch from the tee to
this very oversized and sloping green, this hole has grass
mounds to the left side of the fairway that are replaced by a
stream, pond and marsh all within 20 feet of the greens
backside. The surface of the green slopes high on the left side
and turns in the shape of a boomerang to the front and lowest
point on the green. |
