"WE COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED!  Had a 740 tee time and played in 2 45. Course was in excellent shape for the price. It is not overly challenging, but we could not have been happier. I would play this again, great value."

About

About The Mackinaw Club - Mackinaw City's Golf Course

This Jerry Matthews designed course is ideally located within minutes of downtown Mackinaw City's unique shopping, dining and entertainment district. Our rates make a day of golf an incredible entertainment value. Plan a great day of golf and an evening of dining, or spend your morning practicing on our driving range followed by a scenic afternoon trip to historic Mackinac Island.

The Mackinaw Club boasts a gentle and rolling tree-lined terrain that provides a slight elevation change. There are several ponds and even a stream that runs right through the middle of the course and impacts play on three holes. The fairways are a blend of traditional northern Michigan tree-lined and open meadow types. Types of grass include Bentgrass on the tees and greens and Bluegrass on the fairways.

Hours of Operation
Fall hours: 8:30 a.m. till 6 p.m.
Hours and services may vary. It is best to call for early or late tee times.

In general, during a long rain or thunderstorm, the course is closed due to weather. Many other courses are built on clay or heavy loam soil and have to close after heavy rain. Due to The Mackinaw Club's golf course site being on a sandy upland landscape, we are able to open immediately after a strong rain.

Recent Upgrades and Improvements
The Mackinaw Club is always making improvements and upgrades to the course and grounds. Just a few of the upgrades and improvements we've made include:
We planted over a thousand trees throughout the golf course and grounds.
We replaced all of the golf cart bridges.
We installed all new landscaping around the clubhouse with shrubs and flowers.
We obtained a new greens mower.
We repaired and restored the irrigation system to its original condition.
We do our best to conserve water resources by surgically watering only as needed on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Turf Management
An ongoing effort towards quality turf management has been instituted along with consistent mowing of the course. This gives our guests a golfing experience similar to other golf courses that charge double our regular rates. We are working towards being a "greener" golf course through the introduction of organic fertilizers and by reducing mowing in "out of play" areas, allowing those areas to return to their wild condition.
